Scores of residents in Highbridge took part in a Remembrance Day ceremomy and parade on Sunday afternoon (November 9th).

The town’s event began with a parade along Church Street of local groups followed by a service at St John’s Church and a wreath-laying ceremony at the town’s war memorial.

The service was led by Reverend Sharon Crossman, vicar of St John’s, and was preceded by a procession of over 100 youngsters from the Bank Street Car Park.

Highbridge and Sedgemoor councillors were among the dignitaries taking part in the special event.

Among the groups laying wreaths were Highbridge Scouts, Brownies and Cubs, St John Ambulance Badgers plus local Army and Sea Cadets.

Members of the town’s police force, Town Council, Royal British Legion and Sedgemoor District Council also paid their respects.
