Shoppers urged to back local shops this Christmas in Burnham

-

Burnham-On-Sea residents have this week been urged to support local traders by shopping in town this Christmas.

Burnham Chamber of Trade is encouraging shoppers to use the town’s High Street over the festive season.

On Saturday, the Chamber handed out copies of Burnham Shoppers Guide booklet to shoppers in the High Street to promote the town’s range of independent shops and to mark the UK’s Small Business Saturday.

Mayor Martin Cox also gave his backing to the campaign, telling Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I’m very keen to see local people supporting Burnham’s town centre by doing their festive shopping here. Our shops offer a great range of products and offer a far more personal service than shopping malls.”

A Chamber of Trade spokesman added: “Burnham has a great range of independent shops selling a variety of gifts, from clothes, food and artwork to electrical products, flowers and children’s toys.”

“Why wait in queues and travel miles to the malls this Christmas when your festive shopping can be done here in Burnham on your doorstep, helping Burnham’s economy at the same time.”

The pocket-sized Burnham Shoppers Guide booklet was unveiled by the Chamber of Trade last month, as featured here.
