Fundraisers raise £1,800 for Burnham’s BARB from 10,000ft sky dive

-

Five crewmembers from Burnham’s rescue hovercraft charity BARB found Friday 13th was lucky for them after completing a sponsored sky dive.

The group – Dan Lyons, Adrian Cunningham, Wayne Kilgallon, Chris Bess and John Ansell – took part in a sky dive from 10,000ft above Salisbury Plain to raise funds for BARB Search & Rescue.

Chris said: “We wanted to do something a bit different to raise funds and it was a fantastic experience.”

“The weather conditions were perfect – we had a superb flight up to the jumping altitude and then free fell to 5,000ft before opening the parachutes. It was such an exhilarating experience and we thank all those people who sponsored us.”

Those still interested in sponsoring them can call in at the seafront hovercraft station or online via the PayPal donations facility on the BARB web site here.
