Dozens of slimmers from across Burnham-On-Sea, Highbridge and Bridgwater took part in a sponsored walk on the town’s beach at the weekend.

72 members of Slimming World took part in the event in which they were able to choose a walk, skip, run or dance over 1-5km.

The event raised hundreds of pounds for Slimming World’s charity of the year, Cancer Research to help work in fighting Cancer.

“Everyone had a lot of fun – it was a brilliant event which ended with a healthy BBQ and beach games,” one of the organisers, Keran Parker, told Burnham-On-Sea.com. “We would also like to thank Asda, Tesco and Morrisons for donating us with water which stopped everyone involved getting dehydrated.”
