Call for improved signs to promote ‘hidden’ Burnham-On-Sea theatre

-

A Burnham-On-Sea artist has this week called for improved signs across the town centre to promote the ‘hidden’ Princess Theatre.

Margaret Riordan wants the Town Council to introduce extra signs to encourage more people to visit the facilities in Princess Street.

“This theatre is a gem for local artists wishing to display their work, as well as those who run great events there, and it has a lovely coffee shop,” she told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“The trouble is that nobody knows about it and where it is. It’s tucked away down a side street.”

“We need to have some signage on the seafront directing holidaymakers to the theatre.”

A council spokesperson said that signs are due to be improved as part of a town centre improvements project from this autumn.

The Princess runs exhibitions every week featuring new artists.

Margaret’s exhibition of art is underway and runs at the theatre until August 25th from 10am-3pm on Tuesdays through to Saturdays.
