A Burnham-On-Sea couple are pulling on their walking boots to take part in an emotional fundraising walk.

Jo and Peter Burridge-Clayton are walking the 51 miles of the Coleridge Way to raise funds for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.

They aim to complete the trek by September 23rd which will be the third anniversary of Jo’s bone marrow transplant.

They say they are undertaking the challenge together because, although it was Jo who was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia, Peter has supported Joanna throughout her transplant journey.

“This treatment was life-saving, but with more research, more treatments could be found to save others from undergoing this harsh regime,” said Jo.

“Research is the bedrock on which to improve treatments and diagnosis for blood cancer patients. Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research is driving smarter and faster diagnosis and inspiring new treatments and care. A blood cancer diagnosis can have a huge impact on family and friends as well as the individual. So please give generously to this very worthwhile charity.”

The couple have a JustGiving donation page here.
