Burnham-On-Sea’s second annual youth parade and Carnival Queen Fun Day for local groups is to be held on Saturday July 12th.

The event will take place from 11am-4.30pm with a youth parade (similar to Burnham’s summer parade last year, as pictured here) through the town.

Jonathan Smith, youth parade organiser, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We are hoping for as many groups involved with youth activities to take part in this event and show the great things on offer for the younger members of our towns.”

After the procession, there will be a sandcastle building competition on the beach and a fun day. To help with the fun day contact Emma by email via dancin19@hotmail.co.uk.

Carnival Queen Emma Nicholson said: “When I was crowned last year I was determined to do something unforgettable with my year as Carnival Queen. I also wanted to raise money for charities and Burnham Pantomime Society.”

“So as part of the youth parade I am organising a fun day for the community. There will be games, a raffle, bouncy castle, displays and lots more fun things for everyone to get involved with.”

“One of the charities I’m supporting is Think Amy, a local road safety charity. I chose this because I wanted to do something for children and my mum’s cousin was killed in a road accident in 1995, so I feel being aware of road safety is important for everyone – including children.”

The event is also open for craft stalls and groups. Get involved by contacting jonathan@boshevents.org.uk
