Age UK launches new Highbridge activity group after funding boost

Age UK Somerset has launched a new multi-activity session in Highbridge after receiving funding from the local committee of the Community Development Foundation.

The fortnightly sessions include New Age Kurling, Boccia, Ping and seated Hockey, which are easy-to-learn activities that are fun and inclusive.

The group meets every fortnight on Fridays, following the launch on Friday 6th March. The sessions run from 2-3.30pm and include refreshments for just £1.50.

The funding has enabled the new group to purchase equipment which is used during its sessions in St John's Church Hall.

Di Ramsay from Age UK Somerset said: "We really appreciate the support from James and Janet and are so glad that they could come and join in the fun with us."

Age UK Somerset promotes the well-being of all older people in Somerset and North Somerset to make later life an enjoyable and fulfilling experience.
