TV and stage star Anita Harris to perform at Burnham-On-Sea theatre

-

A star of film and stage is set to visit Burnham-On-Sea later this month to discuss her incredible career.

Anita Harris appeared in many of the popular Carry On comedy films, including Follow That Camel and Carry On Doctor.

She was also one of the brightest young singing stars of the 1960s, performing in shows alongside Dusty Springfield and Petula Clark.

She learned her trade from Frank Sinatra and Mae West on the glittering stages of Las Vegas.

Later, she was one of the world’s highest-paid cabaret artists and had a long-running starring role as Grizabella in the musical Cats.

Anita is coming to Burnham’s Princess Theatre on Friday 29th May and, with musical accompaniment from her pianist Peter Gill, she will reveal wonderful anecdotes from her life in show business, the people she has met and the places she has been.

“Anita invites you to share in an evening of her favourite stories and most loved songs from her celebrated 50 year career from Las Vegas to the London Palladium, Top of the Pops to Cats, accompanied by Princess favourite Peter Gill,” said a spokesperson.

Tickets for the event, which starts at 7.30pm, are available now, priced £13.50 for standard entry and £12.50 for concessions. More details on 01278 784464.
