A programme of repair and restoration work has been completed at Highbridge’s Apex Park in time for the busy summer period.
Sedgemoor District Council has refurbished all of the park’s interpretation panels, information boards, signage and directional finger posts in recent weeks.
The work has also included sanding back, re-painting the roofs and structures, as well as replacing several panels and posts.
The panels and information boards have also been updated with current information about the park, new features such as our wildflower meadow, and how to contact Sedgemoor District Council.
The two large wooden swan seats, situated near the main entrance to the park, have also been fully restored to their former glory.
And the swan seats, pictured right, have been cleaned, sanded down and re-stained with protective paint.
Sedgemoor District Council spokeswoman Claire Faun said: “It is really important for visitors to have clear and interesting information about the park.”
“The previous signage and interpretation panels had become weathered and stained, and the information boards a little outdated, so we are really pleased the restored items and swan seats allow visitors to make the most of our award-winning park.”
