Hundreds of pounds has been collected for Burnham’s BARB Search & Rescue during a day of fundraising at a Highbridge supermarket.

Somerset Motorcycle Group held a ‘Meet The Members Day’ outside the town’s Asda store on Saturday (June 13th) along with a collection for BARB, their charity of the year.

Norman Templeman from Somerset Motorcycle Group said: “The event was a great opportunity to promote our group to shoppers with a display of a dozen motorbikes, while also raising £280 for this super local charity.”

BARB Operations Manager Mike Lowe said: “We are grateful to Somerset Motorcycle Group for raising the funds for us to purchase ten high-quality rescue throwlines for our crew. These high-visibility lines are specially designed to make them easier and safer to use for crewmembers and casualties during night rescues, replacing the previous kit.”

The bikers will be holding a fundraising bike run for BARB on Sunday July 5th, leaving the Bristol Bridge Inn at 10am. All bikers will be welcome.
