Burnham gift shop’s new ‘build a bear’ service helps town charities

-

A Burnham-On-Sea gift shop has launched a new ‘build a teddy bear’ service to help two local charities.

Hidden Treasures in Burnham’s Regent Street unveiled the new Teddy Mountain range on Saturday (February 28th), during a special event attended by supporters, Town Crier Alistair Murray and Town Centre Manager Beverley Milner Simonds.

Two Burnham charities will be benefiting from the sale of the special charity bears – In Charley’s Memory and BARB Search & Rescue.

“Teddy Mountain is a special teddy bear stuffing store that will provide a lasting, memorable experience for all,” said the shop’s Jane Jenkins.

Special T-shirts will be available for BARB and In Charley’s Memory bears soon.

“The concept is simple: pick an unstuffed plush (unstuffed teddy bear or other animal skin) and fill it up yourself using our child-safe stuffing machine.”

“You can then customize your teddy bear to your liking by picking out clothing and accessories such as shoes, sunglasses, and even sporting gear.”

“You even get an adoption certificate and pick a drawstring bag or teddy box to take them home in.”

Jane added: “At Hidden Treasures we try to bring new concepts and new ideas for the local people and our many visitors.”

“Instead of travelling to Bristol you can pop in to us and own your personalised teddy bear. These are great for birthdays, christenings, new baby, weddings and for the young at heart.”
