Berrow Scouts issue urgent appeal for more adult helpers

Berrow Scouts are urgently seeking new volunteers to help run their Beavers and Cubs groups.

Both groups are well supported by local youngsters, girls and boys alike, and a weekly programme of activities helps them learn new lifeskills based around teamwork and friendship.

The group currently needs more adult leaders and helpers, especially within the Beaver colony, and for behind-the-scenes work too.

Linda Hamilton, from Berrow Scout Group, told "Berrow Scout Group simply would not exist without the skills and enthusiasm of our adult volunteers."

"We urgently need some adults to step forward and help with our weekly sessions. Whether you can spare a hour a week or can help occasionally, we need you to continue the exciting programme we have planned and to give youngsters the chance to learn new skills and develop new friendships."

"No experience is necessary as a training programme is in place. The only requirement is that you are above 18 years of age and that you have an occasional hour to spare and lots of enthusiasm. We are looking for adult leaders and helpers but there are other roles for people as well."

The Scout Association strives to help these youngsters to become worthy, caring and considerate of their fellows and their environment. For more details, call Linda on 01278 782521 or
