Police ask Burnham residents to look out for stolen £11,000 bikes

Residents across the Burnham-On-Sea area have this week been asked by police to look out for two moto-cross motorbikes that have been stolen.

Police are investigating the burglary, which occurred during the early hours of Tuesday 14th April.

The offenders forced their way into a garage in Downend Road, Puriton and removed two high value moto-cross motorbikes with a combined value of £11,000.

The offenders then wheeled the bikes across farmland at the rear of the premises and back out onto Downend Road.

"We are appealing to anyone who might have heard or seen anybody, or any vehicles acting suspiciously, in the area between midnight and 7am," said a police spokesman.

"We would also like to hear from anyone involved in motocross sport who might have been offered the bikes or parts for sale."

The motorbikes are a Kawasaki KXF250 (green body work and mudguards); and a KTM SX150 (orange body work and mudguards) as shown in the library pictures here.

Please call PC 4903 Richard Elston by calling 101, quoting crime reference number 37515/15.

Alternatively, you can pass information to Crimestoppers in confidence by calling 0800 555 111.
