A newly-formed community theatre group has been established in Burnham-On-Sea this week.
The Burnham-On-Sea Community Theatre Group is keen to hear from any existing performing arts groups in the area.
“We are hoping that as a group we can share ideas, resources, skills and network with each other,” said Jacqui Strong, one of the group’s organisers.
“We are bringing a project of our own to the town on April 16th 2016 which will see a professional theatre company bring community theatre into our shops and businesses called Love your Town – Trading Local.”
“We would like to hear from anyone interested in being involved with the group or sitting on the committee,” she added.
“We have had productive meetings with Burnham Chamber of Trade and at the Town Projects meeting with the Town Council.”
“The entertainment group organising the Christmas skating rink are supporting this event and are also willing to help us.”
The group are actively fundraising which will involve a quiz, bid applications and local events. They will be hosting a Tombola over the Frostival event and would like to ask everyone to look for any pre-loved teddy bears and donate them to the group in order to help raise funds, if the teddy’s or soft toys could be offered in good condition it would be appreciated.
