Burnham-On-Sea fire crews were called tackle a caravan blaze that is believed to have been set deliberately.

Crews were called to Catherine Street in East Huntspill shortly before mid-day on Wednesday (October 21st).

Three fire appliances from Burnham and Bridgwater were sent to the scene following a call from a member of the public reporting an empty static caravan alight.

“Shortly after arriving crews confirmed that the caravan was being used as a wood store and was well alight,” said a spokesman.

“Crews used a hose reel jet to extinguish the caravan, the contents of which were completely destroyed.”

“No cylinders were present and no persons were injured but the fire was confirmed as being started deliberately.”
