Burnham-On-Sea fishmonger Steve Wright and his partner Gaynor will be bringing a special seafood display and tasting sessions to crowds of young children and their families in Weston-Super-Mare this week.

Fish is the Dish, the consumer face of seafood industry organisation Seafish, have partnered with Burnham fishmonger Seafoods to bring up to 40,000 people a special fishy display at Weston’s CBeebies Big Day Out with the Furchester Hotel.

The five day festival takes place from Wednesday 29th July to Sunday 2nd August, and is free for families and young children up the age of 6.

Produced by BBC Learning as part of their ‘Dish Up’ campaign, the event aims to make cooking fun and accessible for the whole family.

The free event will take place at the Beach Lawns on Weston seafront and will offer young audiences – aimed at six years and under – the chance to see some of their favourite CBeebies stars and take part in an array of free activities.

Steve said “We’re really pleased to support this event, we’re a local, family-run business and we’re celebrating our 40th anniversary this September! Children are our customers of the future, and it’s great to help them understand where their food comes from.”

Headlining the event are special guests Phoebe Furchester-Fuzz and Furgus Fuzz from The Furchester Hotel who will take to the stage with an exciting live show called ‘Kitchen Catastrophe’. Also starring are former JLS singer turned farmer JB Gill, and star of CBBC’s Junior Bake Off and graduate from Jamie Oliver’s ‘Fifteen’ restaurant, Aaaron Craze.
