Thousands of pounds has been raised for Children In Need across the Burnham-On-Sea area this week during a series of fundraising events.

Schools, local businesses and groups joined in the annual BBC fundraising marathon by holding fun events.

Burnham’s Octopus Children’s Daycare got into the spirit of Children in Need by inviting the children to come in silly style – pyjamas, onesies, princesses, pirates and anything that would raise a smile – and they raised nearly £50 as a result.

Over 50 people also took part in a sponsored ‘jazzercise’ sesison at East Huntspill Hall on Thursday evening for Children in Need, as pictured above.

Burnham and Highbridge Gateway Club held a fun disco during their regular Thursday evening meeting at Burnham’s BAY Centre, below. Funds were raised by the sale of donated cakes and drinks.
