Christmas tree recycling services are being launched in the Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge area this week.

Sanders Gardenworld in Brent Knoll is offering free Christmas tree recycling from Monday January 5th to January 16th.

“Trees up to a maximum of 7ft tall can simply be dropped off at the centre in the specially marked area next to our main entrance,” said the centre’s Rob Vhora. “This service is open to all.”

Meanwhile, Somerset Waste Partnership is also offering a Christmas tree disposal service to all Burnham and Highbridge residents.

Natural Christmas trees under 6ft can be recycled for residents who pay for garden waste collections. Put your tree next to your bin or sack on your usual garden waste collection day for composting.

Alternatively, decoration-free natural trees can be taken Highbridge’s Isleport Recycling Site for composting.

For landfill disposal, put out your tree next to your refuse on your usual bin collections day between 5th-16th January 2015.

A charity door-to-door tree recycling service is not being operated this year.
