Burnham group's cookery demonstration raises charity funds

Thirty members of Burnham Belles Womens Institute group have raised over £130 for charity by holding a cookery demonstration.

The group held the event at Benton Kitchens in Highbridge, raising £139 for Children's Hospice South West through ticket sales and a raffle.

One of the organisers, Claire Harkness, said: "The event was hosted by Benton Kitchens and Aga who gave their time, costs and chef totally free of charge, so we'd like to thank them."

"It was the first fundraising venture that the new Belles of Burnham WI have held and everyone really enjoyed themselves."

The group meets on the first Tuesday of the month at Burnham's Avenue Tennis Club on The Grove at 7.30pm when all are welcome.
