BBC1’s Countryfile to feature Burnham’s BARB volunteers tonight

-

BBC1’s Countryfile will be featuring the work of the volunteers at Burnham-On-Sea’s BARB Search and Rescue this evening (Sunday).

The Countryfile team are in Somerset revisiting some of the areas and people hit by last year’s floods.

Presenter Helen Skelton visits BARB’s team who gave so much help to villages that were cut off by the rising water during last winter’s flooding.

Helen will take part in a call-out with the BARB volunteers and will learn how they turned their hand from working as a hovercraft rescue crew on the coast to doing their bit to help communities on the Levels.

In the episode, Matt Baker will also visit a farmer, whose home and business were under water a year ago. There will also be a feature on wildlife affected.

Countryfile will be broadcast at 6.30pm on BBC1 and will also be available on the BBC iPlayer afterwards.
