Events organisers in the Burnham-On-Sea area will be meeting together today (Monday) to try and avoid diary clashes.
A joint meeting is being planned for those involved in holding events in Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge in 2015.
The planning meeting will be held at the Town Council offices in Jaycroft Road on Monday 5th January at 7pm.
The meeting is been organised and hosted by Burnham’s Burnham Tourism Manager and Town Centre Manager.
Tourism Manager Ian Jefferies, pictured, said: “I got all the event managers and groups holding events together last year and it worked really well when people provided their planned dates.”
“We avoided clashes and also events shared resources like stewards, gazebos etc. The online diary allows visitors and locals to plan their days out and we want to get as many events in there for 2015 as possible.”
Town Centre Manager Beverley Milner Simonds added: “With the new events area in the town centre planned, and some different ways for groups and organisations to get their messages out, we thought it was important to bring people together to share information. The Town Council wants to increase the quality and quantity of the events that are held in Burnham on Sea and Highbridge.”
