Over £2,300 raised for Burnham’s Folkfest during Easter fundraiser

-

A record sum of more than £2,300 was raised for Burnham-On-Sea’s FolkFest music festival during a day of non-stop music.

The traditional Easter Sunday fundraiser, held at The Princess Theatre, attracted crowds of supporters and was hailed a great success by the organisers.

Nine hours of live music featured De-Malebysse, The Winkers, Bouncing Biscuit, Talk Show Hosts, Nick Elswood, Emily Elswood, Vermin, Laser Horse and Rude Awakening.

Folkfest Chairman Dom Wills told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Once again we were gratifyingly well-supported by the music lovers of Burnham and we managed to smash all our fundraising records, with the final count being over £2,300.”

“Folkfest would like to thank all the acts who played for nothing or seriously reduced rates, all our helpers on the door, bar and raffle, and especially Graham Cook and the sound and lights technicians.”

“We had a skeleton crew pulling 12 to 20-hour shifts – a fantastic effort. Rest assured, we will spend the money on yet more amazing musical and street performers when Folkfest comes around in September.”

This year’s Folkfest runs from September 3rd-6th in venues across Burnham town centre.
