Burnham-On-Sea youngster raises hundreds for charity by losing hair

-

A Burnham-On-Sea youngster has raised over £200 by donating her hair to charity.

Lexi Vining, 5, decided she’d like her hair cut short to raise funds for the Little Princess Trust, which donates wigs to children who have lost their hair after chemotherapy.

Her mum Sam told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Lexi is doing this because she was watching a program with me when she saw a little girl with no hair.”

“She asked us why and we told her that the girl was poorly and the medicine she needed had made her lose her hair.”

“Lexi said could have hers and that she will grow some more then she will have pretty hair like her.”

“We searched for the Little Princess Trust because we’d heard of them before and we could check that it was possible.”

“It was possible because Lexi was prepared to cut more than seven inches of hair off, making it around chin height.”

Sam has set up a Just Giving page since it takes around £350 plus hair to make a wig.

Lexi, who goes to Berrow School, has had her hair cut and has raised over £200 so far with donations still coming in. More details are available here.
