Lamb rescued by Burnham carers after falling down Cheddar Gorge

-

A lamb which tumbled down the cliffs at Cheddar Gorge is making a speedy recovery with the help of animal carers from the Burnham-On-Sea area.

Volunteers from Secret World Wildlife Rescue Centre, based in East Huntspill, were called to the village when the Soay lamb fell and hurt herself.

The lamb has been named Daffy by the charity and a spokeswoman said she’s recovering well.

“She fell from a high ledge and sadly we were unable to reunite her with her real mum, so Josie, one of our animal carers, has taken on the role and is bottle feeding her every four hours.”

Secret World has had a busy start to the year, with 107 animal admissions during February including badgers, foxes, buzzards and owls.
