Burnham model set to hold charity ball as Miss England contest nears

-

A Burnham-On-Sea model who is in running to become Miss England will be hosting a fundraising charity ball for several good causes next month.

Emily Sanders, 22, is holding the event to raise money for Variety, a children’s charity, and the Beauty With A Purpose campaign.

Emily, a trainee teacher from Burnham, is holding the fundraising ball at Rookery Manor on Friday 15th May from 7pm-1am for both the charities.

Tickets for the event cost £30 and include a 3-course meal and live entertainment. There will also be a charity auction and raffle on the night with great prizes donated by local businesses.

Emily also volunteers for local organisations Somerset Time for Youth, working with disabled children, and In Charley’s Memory, as secretary.

“I am really excited about the charity aspect to the Miss England competition, and believe that the competition can be an agent for change, rather than just a beauty contest,” she told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“The next round in the competition is fast approaching, and I have had superb support from the local community, friends and family.”

Emily adds that she hopes that advancing in the competition will enhance the profile of local organisations and causes in the area.
