Moose International gives Burnham’s BARB Search & Rescue a boost

-

Members of the Moose International Western Area Ladies Circle have presented a Burnham-On-Sea charity with a welcome donation.

The ladies have carried out collections and held events throughout the year to raise funds for BARB Search & Rescue, which operates two rescue hovercraft and inshore rescue boats.

At an event in Berrow Village Hall, they presented a cheque for £725 to BARB towards the cost of new flood rescue equipment and training.

BARB was proposed as the group’s charity of the year by one of the Ladies Circle members, Pat Burge, who said: “We wanted to help a local charity which would really benefit from the funds. BARB does such good work across Somerset in times of need and they were a clear choice. We are pleased to have raised sum for the charity.”

A BARB spokesman said: “BARB relies on fundraising events like these to help us continue to provide our life-saving services. Thanks go to the Moose Ladies Circle for all their hard work in raising these funds – it’s very much appreciated by everyone at BARB.”
