Over 40 dog walkers and their pets joined a sponsored ‘Mutt Strutt’ at Highbridge’s Apex Park on Sunday (April 12th).

The 2.5 mile walk was held in aid of the RSPCA’s North Somerset Branch, with over £1,000 raised for the charity.

Rita Hinton, the organiser from Brent Knoll RSPCA, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It was a great success once again – we had 45 people with dogs take part – and thank everyone for their support.”

Another of the RSPCA team, Scott Parry, added: “We had great support and are really pleased with how it went. It was nice to see some of the centre’s former rescue dogs also taking part this year.”

Dogs of all ages, sizes and breeds took part in the event. The walk started at the main Apex car park and saw the group then set off around the park’s lakes.

The RSPCA holds the event every year at Apex Park, with the proceeds going to help less fortunate animals in our local area looked after by the animal charity.

The event also intends to promote healthy lifestyles by encouraging local people to walk around the Highbridge park.
