Former Liberal Democrats party leader Paddy Ashdown has helped to formally launch Burnham-On-Sea MP Tessa’s Munt election campaign this week.

Lord Ashdown – who led the Lib Dems from 1988 until August 1999 – attended the special event in Wells on Thursday.

“I was delighted to welcome Paddy to a packed Town Hall meeting for my official adoption as the Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate,” said Tessa.

“In the five weeks until the election I will continue to do what I’ve done for the last five years, working my socks off to represent and defend our area, ensuring everyone’s concerns are listened to and acted on to the best of my abilities.”

“My grandfather told me I could change the world and I’ve proven him right. I hope to do the same again.”
