Poppy Appeal helpers sought by Burnham’s Royal British Legion

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s Royal British Legion has this week issued an appeal for more Poppy Appeal collectors to come forward.

The group is seeking volunteers to help in Burnham and Highbridge during this autumn’s annual collection, which starts on Saturday 24th October and runs through to Armistice Day on 11th November.

Volunteer Sue Meads told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The Poppy Appeal Collectors are the face of the Legion during the Poppy Appeal.”

“They help provide as many opportunities as possible for people to wear a poppy to show their support for our Armed Forces Community.”

“If you can give a couple of hours to just turn up and collect at one of the local supermarkets then please either drop in to the Legion in Burnham’s Victoria Street next week when we will be there from 10.00 until 12.00 or give Ruth a call on 01278 238723. We’d love to hear from you.”
