Dozens of homes in Highbridge were without electricity early today (Friday) following a power cut.

Western Power Distribution told Burnham-On-Sea.com that homes in the Apex Drive area of the town were without supplies following the fault.

“A low voltage fault cut supplies to 79 homes at 8.17pm on Thursday evening and we quickly got a team on-site to try and resolve the problem,” said a spokesman.

Some customers were re-connected by midnight, but others were not back on supplies until the early hours of this morning.

The Western Power spokesman apologised for the inconvenience to customers.
