Burnham-On-Sea’s Royal British Legion branch has held an open day to mark its official relaunch.

The Burnham branch, which is based in Victoria Street, is now open for business and the open day was a great success with over 100 visitors.

“There was a tombola, raffle, guess the name of the teddy and many other things for people to take part in,” said a spokeswoman.

“The tea, coffee and cakes went down especially well with many going back for more. We had live entertainment with the Burnham U3A Ukulele Group who kindly gave their time for free to entertain everyone and there were a great success.”

“The committee would like to say a big thank you to all those who kindly donated prizes for the raffle including Red Berry Recruitment, B&M Meats, Griffin Toilet Hire Ltd and Sanders Garden World.”

“We would also like to thank everyone else who donated not only prizes but their time into making this event the success it was, without these people we would not be able to open. Congratulations to all those that won prizes and those who bought tickets and weren’t so lucky thank you for taking part.”

“This is just the start of the New Burnham Branch and we are hoping to run many events in the future.”

“We hold a coffee morning every Thursday and all are welcome – pop in for a cuppa and a chat and maybe meet a few old friends and maybe make some new ones.”
