Ceremonies are being held in Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge today (Sunday, November 8th) to mark Remembrance Day.

Burnham’s branch of the Royal British Legion is organising a parade along Oxford Street, followed by a Remembrance Day ceremony at the town’s War memorial outside Burnham Hospital in Love Lane.

Various groups will be taking part in the parade, which will gather in the Oxford Street car park at 10.15am.

The parade will form up at 10.25am and set off at 10.30am and head to Burnham’s War Memorial arriving at 10.45am, where a ceremony of Remembrance will be held.

In Highbridge, a service will also take place at St John’s Church at 3pm to include a parade and ceremony besides the town’s war memorial, pictured.

Anyone wishing to attend the ceremonies of remembrance at the War Memorial is very welcome, say organisers.
