£46,000 project to resurface Burnham's South Esplanade completed

A £46,000 project to resurface part of Burnham-On-Sea's South Esplanade has been completed.

Sedgemoor District Council's contractors have been laying a new black tarmac surface between the jetty and pilot hut building over the past week, replacing the former cracking surface.

Council spokeswoman Claire Faun told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "The repairs were necessary as the old surface was showing wear and tear. Crumbling tarmac was replaced by standard-coloured tarmac."

The council added that new benches and bins are being installed, making a total project cost of £46,000.
