Firefighters carried out one of their more unusual rescues in Burnham-On-Sea town centre on Thursday afternoon (December 17th) when a seagull became stranded on a rooftop.

The crew was called to Burnham’s High Street at 12.30pm where the gull had become stuck above Calm Gourmet Coffee Bar.

Fire spokesman Paul Slavin told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The seagull had got stuck in netting. Crews used a triple extension ladder to reach the bird, which was then taken away by the RSPCA.”
