New special needs social group Sensational Kids launches in Burnham

A new social and support group has launched in Burnham-On-Sea to help families with children with additional needs.

Sensational Kids meets fortnightly at Burnham Scout Hut from 11am-1pm every other Saturday.

“We are a new social group of local parents who all share something very special – we all have sensational children with additional needs,” said spokesperson Sarah Lynch.

“We have all spent too long feeling isolated and misunderstood and, with nothing close enough, we knew that this had to change so we’ve launched this new group. It’s there for families – not just for the children to give full support.”

The Sensational Kids Somerset group is a local social and support group for children, aged 0-18, who have additional needs and their families/carers.

“We aim to provide a safe, inclusive and non-judgemental environment. The children involved have a varying degree of disabilities and additional needs; each and every one is very welcome,” she added.

A launch event was held at the Scout Hut, supported by Miss Somerset Emily Sanders, who lives in Burnham-On-Sea.
