Ticket prices specially cut for Sky TV’s speedway fixture in Highbridge

-

The Somerset Rebels have announced that admission prices for their Sky TV encounter against Edinburgh on Tuesday 11th August will be specially slashed.

Tickets will be £10 for adult and concession categories, while those aged 18 and under will be admitted free of charge.

“First and foremost, we are delighted that the Sky cameras will be back at the Oaktree Arena this year, making it the 7th year in a row that we have had the pleasure of Sky Sports here at Somerset,” Somerset Rebels promoter Debbie Hancock told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“Each year we have been blessed with an excellent turn-out crowd-wise and we would love to pack out the place again for this year’s visit by the Sky team for our meeting against Edinburgh, the current league table-toppers, and so we are delighted to announce that we will be reducing our admission prices that night to £10 for our adult and concessionary categories, while those aged 18 and under will be admitted free, though proof of age must be provided if requested upon entry otherwise the full admission price of £10 will be applied.”

“Our raising during last season of the young adult category from an upper age limit from 16 to 18 has proved to be a great success, especially for those who are still at college or 6th form, plus for those who may have just left school and started in employment, it does mean that the cost of attending speedway does not become an drain on their limited resources….or that of their parents!”

“The previous meetings broadcast live by the Sky cameras have all been real humdingers, going right back to the first televised meeting here against King’s Lynn, who will ever forget that heat 15 last heat decider, right up until last year’s Premier League Pairs, albeit the Final proved to be somewhat of an anti-climax.”

“Obviously with the cameras in town that evening, fans need to be aware that we will be starting proceedings promptly at 7.30pm, so my message to everyone is to get to the Oaktree Arena early that night, especially as we will hopefully have an even bigger than usual crowd due to our price reductions.”
