Burnham-On-Sea youngsters will be seeking dragons around the town centre on Thursday (April 23rd) as part of a St George’s Day celebration.

The event will start with the flag of St George being flown on the town’s flagpole at the southern end of the High Street next to the fountain.

The hunt for 20 baby dragons hidden in shop windows throughout the town centre will then begin.

Pre-school children from local nurseries will be hunting for the dragons and once all the clues have been found the children can then head to Burnham’s Princess Theatre to collect their certificates and join a St George’s Day party.

The entertainment at The Princess will provided by Action Pussy Cat, while out on the trail Mike the Knight will be on hand to help the young participants.

There will also be storytelling, dragon making, dragon toys, floor art and craft activities.

Town Centre Manager Bev Milner Simonds told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The Town Council has lined up a great day of celebration in the town centre involving lots of our businesses.”

“This year we have aimed the activities at pre-schoolers due to how the date has fallen, but depending on feedback we can build on this for 2016 when St George’s Day is on a Saturday.”

“Parents and carers can join-in the dragon hunt by picking up a trail form from any of the participating businesses and collect their certificates from Saxons Estate Agents.”
