Up-and-coming talent in the Burnham-On-Sea area will be placed in the spotlight later this month when a unique competition is held in the town.

Burnham’s Princess Theatre is hosting its first Talent Showcase on Saturday February 28th when local musicians will be asked to perform in front of a team of judges.

The organisers are currently looking for acts and the top prize will be a set at the ‘Sat In The Field’ festival later this year.

“We are looking for singers, duos, guitarists etc – it is not a battle of the bands. The contest will be judged by people from the industry, including one from Jelli Records who has said that he may well sign up an act after this event if he feels they are right for him,” said organiser Lewis Coleman.

“We also have other contacts from other festivals so potential spaces are up for grabs to anyone who enters.”

It is £10 to enter and spaces are limited. Contact blueskytheatrearts@gmail.com to register and for further information.

The showcase will be held in aid of the local charity Somewhere House Somerset with proceeds going towards its work.
