A Burnham-On-Sea supermarket manager has raised hundreds of pounds for charity by completing a sponsored walk from Clevedon to Weston.

Hayley Roberts, who manages Burnham’s Tesco store in Love Lane, was among a group of more than 20 managers from across Somerset, Bristol and Dorset who took part in the challenge on Tuesday (January 13th).

The group were raising money for Tesco’s charity of the Year, Diabetes UK, and are on track to raise in excess of £10,000.

The challenge was completed in wet, cold and blustery conditions. “I’m feeling a little sore but am proud to have completed the walk in what was pretty atrocious weather,” she told Burnham-On-Sea.com. “I’m over the moon to have raised well over £600 for the charity.”
