stunning Trinity Close lights raise over £1,600 in first
Burnham-On-Sea cul-de-sac whose stunning display of over 100,000
twinkling Christmas lights has been dubbed 'Britain's most festive
street' by the national media has raised over £1,600 for
charity in its first week.
the Trinity Close residents switched on their illuminations on
December 1st, crowds of visitors have flocked to see the sparkling
total of £1,656 has so far been raised for this year's two
nominated charities - PETAL: The Christine Woodberry Memorial
Trust and the Friends of Burnham Hospital. The display is on track
to match last year's total of over £10,000.
residents have decorated their homes top to bottom with lights,
in addition to roofs, lawns and garden fences, and the display
is lit each night from 4.30pm-10pm until January 5th.
Nick and Hazel Gardner oversee the display and Nick told Burnham-On-Sea.com:
"It's a superb display this year - we have around 10,000
lights with several new ones among them. Several
of the residents have installed extra lights this year - it's
great to see the display continuing to grow each year."
