student takes on prestigious Unicef youth ambassador role
Highbridge sixth form student has taken on a prestigious role
as one of only two Unicef Youth Ambassadors in the UK.
Ramarishnan of King Alfred School's Year 13 has been appointed
to the role, having survived a rigorous application and interview
She has this month taken part her first board meeting in London
where she introduced herself to the chair of the board and the
Executive director and met several trustees.
Alfred School's head of sixth form Jonathan Gaskell said; "Thrinayani
is an excellent role model to our school community and her sense
of civic responsibility is an example to all."
is the school's official Sixth Form charity of the year and Thrinayani
- along with Year 13 friends Jessica Pelling, Amy Fisher, Paige
Dawson and Geoffrey Smith - have already been raising funds in
Burnham town centre by selling raffle tickets and giving out high
viz jackets to children, as well as talking to Specsaver customers
