Brean holiday park’s fun day raises over £1,700 for hospice charity

-

Warren Farm Holiday Centre in Brean raised £1,783 for Children’s Hospice South West during its annual Summer Fete on Saturday (20th June).

The fun day at the park’s clubhouse, The Beachcomber, attracted crowds of people who took part in games, including throwing wet sponges at a volunteer in the stocks!

Sarah Harris, Marketing Co-ordinator at Warren Farm Holiday Centre, said: “We had a fantastic turnout for our Summer Fête and we’re delighted to have raised £1,783 for such a wonderful charity.”

“The event was officially opened by Frozen’s Queen Elsa, and lots of our younger visitors enjoyed meeting her as well as The Beachcomber mascot, Captain Comber.”

“Our ‘Stocks and Sponges’ attraction was very popular with people throwing wet sponges at a brave volunteer trapped in traditional village stocks.”

“A huge thank you goes to everybody who contributed to making the day a success.”

There were a range of stalls and games at the fête including a rodeo bull, tombola, hook a duck and buzz wire.

Entertainment was provided by The Little Stage Company and proceeds from the fête are being donated to Children’s Hospice South West.

Children’s Hospice South West provides hospice care for children with life-limiting conditions and supports families across the South West.
