rescue teams called to help windsurfers in difficulty
and hovercrafts from Burnham-On-Sea were called to Weston beach
on Tuesday evening (May 12th) after two windsurfers got into difficulty
in thick mud.
The alarm was raised by a beach walker at 8pm when the pair were
seen struggling in deep mud.
Burnham Coastguards sent a Mud Rescue Team to the scene, joining
Weston Coastguards, two BARB Search & Rescue hovercrafts,
and a team from Avon Fire & Rescue.
Burnham Coastguard Officer Dave Welland told Burnham-On-Sea.com:
"The two windsurfers had got into difficulty with the falling

were sent to help them."
