starts consultation on plans for its new Highbridge store
giant Aldi has this week started local consultation on its plans
to build a new store on Highbridge's Isleport Business Park.
first reported by Burnham-On-Sea.com here
last week, the German supermarket chain is drawing up plans for
the new store on vacant land near the junction with the A38 through
information leaflet is being distributed to residents and businesses
in the surrounding area this week asking for local views before
the company submits its formal planning application.
Aldi spokeswoman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "Aldi is delighted
to confirm that we would like to open a neighbourhood discount food
store in Highbridge, to give local people in Highbridge and Burnham-On-Sea
easier access to the popular Aldi offer."
proposed site is an undeveloped part of the Isleport Business Park,
off Bennetts Road."
new Aldi would create up to 40 new jobs and the contemporary building
would provide an attractive gateway to the wider estate, encouraging
further investment and attracting more visitors for the benefit
of new and existing businesses."
we first reported last week, Burnham and Highbridge town councillors
discussed the proposals during a meeting last Monday (November 14th).
