New Burnham-On-Sea hairdresser opens with charity fun day

-

A new Burnham-On-Sea hairdresser marked its opening in the town centre with a charity fun day on Sunday.

John Edmiston, who is opening his first barber shop, called Victoria Street Barbers, in Victoria Street, is raising money for In Charley’s Memory, a mental health support charity launched after Burnham teenager Charley Marks took his own life two years ago.

The barber shop’s opening event took place in Victoria Street with fundraising activities and fun, including a bouncy castle in the car park behind the premises plus a raffle, music and nail painting.

John told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I have been a barber for eight years, but this is my first barber shop and I intend to offer something completely different in Burnham.”

“We will provide a traditional, quality barber experience in a relaxing environment. I am bringing back the old-school traditions in a contemporary, modern way. There will be a free drink for every customer and we will have a juke box to provide some great entertainment. We’ve had lots of interest so far.”

The new business will be open from 8am-6pm on weekdays and 8-4pm on Saturdays with a late night on Thursdays.
