Summertime beach dog ban in Burnham-On-Sea is lifted today

-

The summertime dog ban on several of Burnham-On-Sea’s beaches is lifted today (Saturday October 1st).

Dogs can once again be exercised on the beach between the Yacht Club and the Jetty, and also between The Pavilion to Maddock’s Slade.

Dogs remain excluded all year round from the designated children’s play area beach between the Jetty and The Pavilion.

The organsiers of the Sea Dogs Festival, a dog-themed day out by the sea, said: “We welcome the return of access to the beach between Highbridge and Burnham North – we know dog owners in Highbridge really miss having the beach to exercise their dogs on over the summer months and that having to come off the beach at Maddock’s Slade deters some from coming into the town centre.”

The Sea Dogs Festival seeks to promote responsible dog owning and Burnham as a great destination for a dog walk. It returns on Saturday, 22nd April 2017.
