Berrow beach vehicle entrance re-opens after storm damage

Sedgemoor District Council has re-opened the vehicle entrance onto Berrow Beach after high tides and storms caused damage there this week, shutting it for several days.

The council's Claire Faun told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "We had to close vehicle access onto Berrow Beach due to damage caused by the storms which included felled signs and concrete posts, debris and the concrete access ramp being damaged and posing a risk to vehicles."

She added: "We had a contractor on site over the weekend."

The dunes have also been cut back by this week's high tides in several spots along the coastline between Burnham and Brean.
