Berrow School pupils triumph in first round of inter-school quiz contest

-

Pupils from Berrow School are celebrating this week after two teams finished in first and third place in the first round area heat of the National Keystage 2 Inter-School Quiz Championship.

Ten teams took part in the competition, which was held at Milton Park Primary School in Weston-Super-Mare.

Four of Berrow School’s pupils will go on to represent the school in the semi-finals on 16th May at Cotford St Luke Primary School near Taunton.

The team comprised of four players, one from each of the KS2 year groups. The children have been attending a weekly Quiz Club where they have completed practice quizzes in teams, played general knowledge games and had fun finding out facts.

For the Quiz Championship, the children worked together to answer general knowledge questions.

“The entire quiz was projected onto a huge screen with questions including audio, visual and picture clips,” said a spokesman.

“It was quite thrilling for both the players and the supporters because each player used a personal wireless handset to select their answers to multiple choice questions with instant scoring feedback displayed.”
