A walker was air-lifted to hospital after suffering a serious fall on Brean Down on Saturday afternoon (April 9th).

The Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance landed on top of the eastern end of the Down, near the top of the roadway, to help a lady who had suffered several injuries including a suspected broken ankle.

Burnham-On-Sea Coastguards were in the area patrolling at the time and set up a safe landing area to enable the helicopter to touch down while keeping walkers and horses at a safe distance.

The lady was air-lifted to hospital for further treatment.
